More work on the fox

I tested the game and sent the fox back for more work. It still needs to look like the character sheet.

09:48 MDT Testing the game

I tested SWASHPAWS today. The top-down view works, I can create a room, and I was able to fight an enemy. The combat was hard to judge with the current player and enemies. They need better models. I’m holding off on multiplayer testing until the levels are complete and the game looks finished. The emote needs more work too, so I’ll test that later. I’m continuing production, with the fox being remodeled and more useful controls for inspecting it in the browser.

The fox has improved a lot, but it still doesn’t look like the character sheet. I want it to look exactly like that character. I’m working in Blender with the sheet loaded into the scene, comparing the model from different sides. The face and body need more work, along with the ears and tail. The hat, coat and accessories need to match too. I sent it back for another pass before I move on to the other characters.

The latest version has a hat, coat and boots. The head is shorter and the eyes have been adjusted. There’s still a lot missing from the outfit, and the side view shows more work is needed on the face. The cheeks look too flat and the tail shape is wrong. These screenshots show where I am with it. The character sheet is still the target, and I need to keep working on the model.
